The washer is a Maytag LAT9706AAE and is at least eight years old (I bought it with the house) but has been reliable until this. The load size was set between medium and large (it's on a continuous slider); Extra Rinse (which uses more water in the rinse cycle) was turned off and Extra Spin (which causes it to spin for longer) was turned on.
Options. If your newer washer is stuck on wash and won’t advance to the next cycles. Take the cold water hose off the machine side and clean it. The screen won’t come out, so you need to take a tooth pick or something like one and clean it by sticking it around the slots on the out side edge of screen. Little small black peace’s of black
Bath Spin Time “S” 0 to 10 minutes for Prewash, Wash, Rinse1 and Rinse2 1 to 10 minutes for Final Spin. Bath “IS” The owner can change the displayed value, but for a coin washer only 0 will be put into the cycle. Washer 6 Default Cycles (Preset at Factory) There are 6 pre programmed baths on the control which are set up at the factory. The The machine will add water to the tub to adjust where it's sitting so it can try to engage a spin cycle. If the shifter is toast it could do this multiple times. Definitely worth a shit. The shifter switches the washer from agitate to spin and may cause the machine to add water so that it can switch.
(rinse cycle) During the last 5 minutes of spin time, no water should be spraying on clothes. Never add water to the washer while it spins. Only the washer knows how much water is safe to use before motor over loads and burns out. Also, a Kenmore washer will fill and agitate at the same time on a permanent press cycle.
